Happy Holidays from The Vic Foundation!

To our wonderful supporters,

2020 has been a year unlike any other. As we celebrated our community’s accomplishments in December 2019, none of us could have predicted the challenges, losses, triumphs, heartbreaks and successes we would face over the next 365 days. It has truly been a year for the history books.

But as the COVID-19 pandemic hit Manitoba in March and we all waited in nervous anticipation of an unknown future, I was overcome with a strong sense of comfort. Although I did not know what would happen over the next several months, I was certain of two things:

Our community is here for us, and we are here for our community.

When we established our COVID-19 Critical Response Fund, you generously donated to support the health and well-being of patients and frontline workers. When we redeveloped our 5th Annual Miracle Garden Party into a socially distanced event, you remained committed to supporting local mental health initiatives. And when we launched our brand-new Send A Smile To A Senior program in conjunction with Victoria Lifeline, you answered the call to support local businesses and fight social isolation in our community.

You’ve proven that our ability to rally together is something we can all take comfort in. When it mattered most, you stood up and made a difference. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your incredible support during such a difficult year.

Although we can’t celebrate in person this holiday season, I hope you and your families have a chance to connect virtually, over the phone, or through hand-written letters. I hope you have a chance to rest and practice some well-deserved self-care, and I wish you and your loved ones the very best as we move into 2021.

Happy Holidays,
