As we enjoy the peaceful summer months and long-anticipated return of gathering with family and friends, I feel the warmth of your kindness and its impact on what we have been able to do to enrich the health and well-being of our family, friends and neighbours and of those served by Victoria Hospital.

Our incredible healthcare workers have worked diligently over the last two years to keep us safe and healthy, and while we have been able to get back to some familiar routines, the impact COVID-19 has had on our mental health has been staggering. As the urgency for mental health resources continues to grow, we are indebted to your unparalleled help in improving our community’s mental wellness and creating healthier futures for everyone.
This issue of Voice focuses on our recent investments in mental health and the care of older adults, along with our community spirit. You’ll learn about the significant opening of the new and innovative Manitoba Blue Cross Mental Health Assessment Unit and the unveiling of Tranquility Trail, the outdoor greenspace supporting mental health treatment programming. We share the recipients of our Community Leveraging Technology For Innovation (CLTI) Grants that will help community non-profits update their digital infrastructure and better serve our community. You can learn more about a recent art class we hosted in support of mental wellness and see some of the finished artworks made by participants. And lastly, we share some stories highlighting the incredible impacts you’ve made on the health and quality of life for patients and their families.
