Thank you to everyone who participated in the Name Our Robots Contest! We received over 1,500 names for consideration. Congratulations to our lucky winners! We look forward to introducing these 15 telepresence robots into the homes of people in our community to support individuals living with dementia and their caregivers.
These telepresence robots are part of a new study by researchers at the University of Manitoba, funded through an inaugural strategic partnership between Research Manitoba and Victoria Hospital Foundation. The goal of the study is to assess whether these robots can effectively support informal caregivers of individuals living with dementia. These robots are equipped with a video-camera, screen, microphone, and speakers to allow caregivers two-way communication with those in their care while they are not in the same location.
