Buhler Cancer Centre Solarium
Help Women Face Cancer With Confidence.
Women living with cancer suffer the effects of the disease and its treatment. Surgeries and treatment cause many appearance-related changes such as hair loss, bruising and skin conditions.
Look Good Feel Better® is a national initiative that helps women living with cancer manage the appearance-related side effects of their treatment. Volunteer cosmetologists and wig specialists conduct free hands-on workshops on skin care, makeup, wigs and head-covering techniques to help boost the confidence of women battling cancer. Our Women’s Oncology Wigs program ensures that a wide variety of quality wigs and head coverings are available for workshop participants. Research shows that understanding and effectively dealing with these changes can help women to better cope with their disease.

Women’s Oncology Wigs Program
Many patients struggle with the appearance-related effects of their treatment, with hair loss being one of the most devastating effects of cancer for women. Just a few years ago, The Vic’s Buhler Cancer Centre had no quality wigs, no display cases and no privacy to try on wigs.
The Women’s Oncology Wigs Program was developed to address the ongoing need for wigs. To date, over $100,000 has been invested in high quality wigs and related upgrades to The Vic’s Buhler Cancer Centre Solarium.
Want to help? Your gift to the Women’s Oncology Wigs Program helps to ensure high quality wigs are available to support women facing cancer in our community.
